Heartland Forest is truly a hidden gem, located on 93 acres of Provincially Significant Wetland in west Niagara Falls. It has numerous natural features including: a Carolinian forest, frog and turtle ponds, a stream, pools and many unique species of birds, trees, and amphibians. This will be a gentle walk – all of the trails are fully accessible - but if you are feeling really energetic there are exercise stations located at various point around the main trail. Check out their website here. We will meet in front of the Nature Centre building, which is located at the main entrance beside the car park (at 8215 Heartland Forest Rd.). If you are interested in joining us, contact me by email (sandra.watson32@gmail.com), or by phone (905 988-9378) by September 18. Arrangements will be made for carpooling as required, so let me know if you need a ride, and also if you need more detailed directions.
